Facility/Yard Maintenance
About The Position
This entry-level yard maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the grounds, detailing machinery and other equipment, and assisting with maintenance and janitorial duties. The role is full-time, with an expected 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday. Saturday work may be required as needed, and overtime may also be required. The employee must be able to perform the position’s essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, and meet the relevant skills, experience, education, and other job-related requirements. The company will engage in an interactive discussion with an employee who has a disability to determine whether a reasonable accommodation is available that would not create an undue hardship.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a degree of independence.
- General knowledge of and ability to operate lawn and garden equipment.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, lift, and move continually during working hours; frequently stand, sit, kneel or squat, bend or stoop, push or pull, and twist; and regularly walk, climb, grasp, and reach.
- Must be able to work Saturdays as needed and overtime as needed.
Nice To Haves
- Forklift training and experience; candidates must provide proof of prior training or receive training from United Ag & Turf before operating a forklift.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks carrying new equipment, palletized items, store transfers, and dealer transfers.
- Inspect incoming equipment during unloading and confirm serial numbers, manuals, and keys.
- Help customers load and unload equipment for service.
- Dump scrap metal and trash cans.
- Load the scrap pallet dumpster.
- Keep tires aired up on used equipment and equipment on the line and sales lot.
- Maintain oil dump stations.
- Put away forklifts and shop-owned Gators nightly.
- Occasionally maintain company-owned equipment, including forklifts, Gators, and company trucks.
- Help technicians move non-functioning equipment from the service line to a bay.
- Maintain the yard by spraying weeds, mowing, trimming weeds, and picking up trash.
- Wash and detail equipment as needed at the wash bay.
- Perform janitorial duties as needed.
