About The Position

This entry-level yard maintenance position is responsible for maintaining the grounds, detailing machinery and other equipment, and assisting with maintenance and janitorial duties. The role is full-time, with expected hours of 40 per week, Monday through Friday. The employee must be able to work Saturdays as needed and may be required to work overtime.

The position involves physical activity throughout working hours, including walking, sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and frequently perform tasks such as kneeling or squatting, pushing or pulling, and twisting. Walking, climbing, grasping, and reaching are regularly required. Duties may change at any time, and the employee must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a degree of independence.
• General knowledge of and ability to operate lawn and garden equipment.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Forklift training and experience; candidates must provide proof of previous training or receive training from United Ag & Turf before operating a forklift.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks carrying new equipment, palletized items, store transfers, and dealer transfers.
• Inspect incoming equipment during unloading and confirm serial numbers, manuals, and keys.
• Assist customers with loading and unloading equipment for service.
• Dump scrap metal and trash cans.
• Load the scrap pallet dumpster.
• Keep tires aired up on used equipment and equipment on the line and sales lot.
• Maintain oil dump stations.
• Put away forklifts and shop-owned Gators nightly.
• Occasionally maintain company-owned equipment, including forklifts, Gators, and company trucks.
• Assist technicians with moving non-functioning equipment from the service line to a bay.
• Maintain the yard by spraying weeds, mowing, trimming weeds, and picking up trash.
• Wash and detail equipment as needed at the wash bay.
• Perform janitorial duties as needed.
