Facility Technician - Campus
About The Position
The Facility Technician cleans and maintains the Goodwill North Central Texas campus facility. Duties include cleaning restrooms, floors, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors; collecting and emptying trash; dusting furniture and equipment; and stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing floors. The technician follows procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment, prepares cleaning solutions according to specifications, reports the need for major repairs or building-system additions, and requests supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance. The role also requires adherence to Goodwill and departmental policies and procedures and performing other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
- Preference for performing routine and repetitive duties.
- Physical stamina to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods and stoop, reach, pull, push, bend, stretch, and twist throughout the working day.
- Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements.
- Pass a background check, physical assessment, and drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Service, clean, or supply restrooms.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
- Gather and empty trash.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
- Clean windows, glass partitions, or mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, or equipment.
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors.
- Adhere to Goodwill and departmental policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested.
