About The Position

The Facility Service Manager ensures that Extra Space Storage properties meet high standards for safety, security, and condition. Working with the Divisional Vice President and site staff, and under the direction of the Director of Facility Services, the manager oversees capital projects across a portfolio of more than 100 stores, with project budgets ranging from $1,500 to $1 million. The role maintains accurate project tracking and accounting records, helps develop the annual facilities budget and five-year forecast, reviews work orders and invoices, and inspects properties to confirm facility standards are maintained. Travel is required and is estimated at 50%, though it may vary with portfolio needs.

Requirements

At least 3 years of related experience in multi-site facilities management and/or project management.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%; travel may vary based on portfolio needs.

Nice To Haves

Trade knowledge is strongly preferred.
A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Select and supervise vendors and contractors.
Develop project scopes of work, solicit bids, supervise projects, ensure standards and results are achieved, and close out projects.
Provide operations staff with instruction on safety, security, and facility maintenance.
Maintain communication and follow-up with leadership and store staff.
Consolidate, communicate, and ensure successful resolution of regional facility management issues.
Oversee execution of capital projects across more than 100 stores.
Maintain current and accurate project tracking and accounting records using company computer systems.
Participate in developing the annual facilities budget and five-year forecast.
Review, track, and approve work orders and invoices for compliance with company standards, policies, budgets, and guidelines.
Physically inspect properties by property and district to ensure safety, security, and facility standards are maintained.
Ensure expected project results are delivered on time and within budget constraints.
