Facility Maintenance Technician
About The Position
U-Haul is hiring a Facility Maintenance Technician to inspect, maintain, and build buildings and perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service. The technician performs preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites, completes work requests promptly and professionally, and collaborates with other technicians on complex projects. The role also involves keeping track of a company truck and gas card and participating in ongoing training through U-Haul University. The position is located at 920 W Commonwealth Av, Fullerton, California 92832. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship. The work involves moderate risks and may require protective clothing or equipment. It requires periods indoors and outdoors, traversing spaces, repositioning to use tools, and moving at least 50 pounds with or without assistance.
Requirements
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: electrical, A/C, HVAC, plumbing, or landscaping.
- Valid driver’s license.
- D.O.T. certification; U-Haul can sponsor certification.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and build new buildings.
- Perform general maintenance, installation, repair, and service.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and semiannual roof inspections at various sites.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools effectively.
- Collaborate and share knowledge with other Facility Maintenance Technicians on complex projects.
- Complete work requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Keep track of the company truck and gas card.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
