Facility Maintenance Tech
About The Position
Perform or arrange for general building and fixture repairs, supervise outside contractors, and keep the building clean and orderly by regularly examining it for repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness needs, including janitorial duties. The position is also in charge of shipping and receiving. The work includes facility maintenance and cleaning, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, coordinating vendor visits, monitoring landscaping and common facilities, and moving furniture, equipment, and materials for events, conference room setups, and employee relocations. The role proposes solutions to equipment issues, efficiency, cost, and safety concerns, and performs related work as needed. Work should be completed efficiently and on time with minimal supervision. Work is predominantly performed at the company site. Travel in a company or personal vehicle may often be necessary for errands, training, or business interests.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Ability to read and follow written manuals and standard operating procedures.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, appliance repair, and basic HVAC.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and building codes.
- Experience using hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge and experience with personal protective equipment related to chemical and electrical hazards.
- Safety-conscious with an excellent safety record.
- Good organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with other departments.
- Valid California driver’s license with a good driving record; this is a condition of employment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb straight up vertical ladders and enter confined spaces.

- Hazardous materials handling experience is desired.
Responsibilities
