About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Technician is a key member of the team, primarily responsible for repairs and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems, and environmental control systems across all departments at the location. The role helps ensure a safe environment for customers and supports the travel center’s customer-service mission. The position also includes general facility repairs, coordinating outside contractors, maintaining supplies, and coordinating and inspecting work by porters and housekeeping staff. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED with vocational training in general maintenance and equipment repair.
Demonstrated ability in general maintenance or other maintenance responsibilities.
Ability to operate machinery and equipment, including tow motors, equipment, and basic hand tools.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Nice To Haves

HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications preferred.
Works well with others and is excited to be part of the team.

Responsibilities

Perform installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, boiler systems, and environmental control systems throughout the location.
Complete general repairs such as painting and caulking, patching walls, repairing security hardware, roofs, pavement, tile and floors, hanging shelves, maintaining facility lighting, and landscaping.
Coordinate outside contractors and ensure the scope of work is being performed correctly.
Maintain appropriate inventory of materials, equipment, and supplies.
Coordinate, assign, and inspect work for completeness by porters and housekeeping staff.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
