About The Position

The Ohio Adjutant General’s Department is seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist 1 to help maintain safe, functional, and mission-ready facilities in support of the men and women who serve our state and nation. Requirements

  • Successful completion of post-secondary training in facilities maintenance technology, industrial trades technology, or a comparable training program.
  • At least one year of experience in construction or building maintenance that includes work in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • If assigned to operate motorized equipment regulated under Ohio Revised Code sections 4506.01, 4506.03, and 4506.12, the employee must possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
  • Clearly describe related education or training program.
  • Clearly describe relevant maintenance or construction experience.
  • Clearly describe the specific types of work performed in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Clearly describe any current driver’s license or CDL held, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and semi-skilled facility maintenance work to support the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of assigned buildings, grounds, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine repair work on building systems and facility components.
  • Assist with minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Support HVAC and mechanical room upkeep through routine preventive maintenance.
  • Perform general building repair, installation support, and facility upkeep.
  • Operate grounds, snow removal, and other maintenance equipment as assigned.
  • Complete work orders, maintain records, and communicate maintenance needs and work status.
  • Use required computer-based systems for email, timekeeping, training, and employee self-service functions.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs and support continuity of operations.
