About The Position

This position completes routine and emergency maintenance repairs to all areas of the Hospital. This includes minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, glass replacement, as well as general maintenance, such as: installing bulletin boards, unplugging toilets, wall board repair and painting.

Requirements

  • Two years of general building maintenance experience.
  • Two years of carpentry experience.
  • Two years of electrical experience.
  • Two years of mechanical experience.
  • Two years of painting experience.
  • Two years of plastering experience.
  • A journeyman's license/card in any of the above trades will substitute for this experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience responding to local and campus wide emergencies.
  • Experience making repairs including but not limited to, fires, floods, broken pipes, stuck elevators, broken windows, and door hardware malfunctions.
  • Experience providing various phases of skilled maintenance and repair to walls, ceiling, floors and roofs as required, painting, plumbing, minor electrical repairs, carpentry, mechanical equipment repair, sheet metal fabrication, repairing of door locks and door hardware and installation and/or repair of door jams, closures, fire systems.
  • Ability to direct the fire department to the location of the announced alarm, provide needed assistance, reset fire alarm panels, and supports hospital staff during and after emergencies.
  • Experience installing items to walls, such as pictures, bulletin boards, small cabinets, dispensers and shower curtain assemblies by using proper anchoring systems.
  • Experience responding to plumbing emergency repairs such as leaking faucets, toilets, unclogging plumbing fixtures.

Responsibilities

  • Completes routine and emergency maintenance repairs to all areas of the Hospital.
  • Performs minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Handles general maintenance tasks such as installing bulletin boards, unplugging toilets, wall board repair, and painting.
  • Responds to local and campus-wide emergencies including fires, floods, broken pipes, stuck elevators, broken windows, and door hardware malfunctions.
  • Provides skilled maintenance and repair to walls, ceilings, floors, and roofs.
  • Performs painting, plumbing, minor electrical repairs, carpentry, and mechanical equipment repair.
  • Fabricates sheet metal and repairs door locks, door hardware, door jams, and closures.
  • Installs and/or repairs fire systems.
  • Directs the fire department to the location of announced alarms, provides assistance, and resets fire alarm panels.
  • Supports hospital staff during and after emergencies.
  • Installs items to walls using proper anchoring systems, such as pictures, bulletin boards, small cabinets, dispensers, and shower curtain assemblies.
  • Responds to plumbing emergency repairs such as leaking faucets and toilets, and unclogs plumbing fixtures.
