About The Position

The Facility Maintenance Technician in Utility is responsible for managing various mechanical facilities and their components, including air compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, clean/dry room facilities, HVAC systems, and infrastructure. The role involves tasks such as fueling, replacement, and cleaning (including strainer and mud separator cleaning for HVAC systems, chillers, and cooling towers). It also includes facility maintenance work such as piping, electrical, and door maintenance. The position requires taking appropriate measures in case of any malfunction or damage to the facilities. The S1 level is expected to perform routine tasks after short-term training and work under direct supervision.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Development)
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in EV battery, auto part, automobile industry, or similar high volume manufacturing in electric or chemical component
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Understanding of UT facility
  • Troubleshooting ability to deal with facility malfunctions
  • Understanding of measuring tools and methods
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload
  • Prepare routine documentation as required
  • Ability to solve problems related to utility (Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, and Electrical)
  • Overcome fear of failure and strives to keep trying with a can-do attitude and high level of enthusiasm
  • Take ownership of the tasks and complete it responsibly

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine tasks that can be performed after short-term training
  • Work under direct supervision
  • HVAC facility maintenance (greasing fan bearings, checking sensors, cleaning strainers, adjusting/replacing v-belts, replacing filters, replacing air vents, repairing/replacing steam traps)
  • BCU/BFU/FFU Maintenance (checking differential pressure, replacing filters)
  • EHP, PAC, Air Shower Facility Maintenance (checking operational status, cleaning filters, replacing filters)
  • Door maintenance (inspecting alignment, lubricating, adjusting closers, repairing/replacing panels, checking locks, inspecting automatic door systems)
  • Piping maintenance (inspecting for leaks, cleaning strainers, repairing/replacing pipes/valves, insulation repair, checking valve operation, flushing/draining systems)
  • Electrical maintenance (inspecting panels/wiring, tightening connections, replacing components, measuring electrical values, maintaining lighting/power distribution, troubleshooting faults)
  • Chiller Facility Maintenance (maintaining strainers, greasing pumps, injecting oil, running test operations)
  • Air Compressor Facility Maintenance (checking/injecting lubricant oil, replacing filters, cleaning drain traps)
  • NMP Recovery Facility Maintenance (measuring pump vibration, cleaning strainers, greasing motors, checking eye shower operation, replacing fan v-belts)
  • A/C Tower Maintenance (greasing towers/fans, replacing v-belts)
  • Steam Boiler Facility Maintenance (replacing/cleaning filters, cleaning chemical lines, testing LNG lines, cleaning water gauges, testing blow-down valves, maintaining pump/heat transmitters, greasing/oiling pumps/fans, checking heat transmitters, repairing/replacing accessories)
  • Hot Oil Boiler Facility Maintenance (testing LNG lines, greasing/oiling pumps/fans, eliminating air/moisture, measuring pump/fan vibration, checking/replacing v-belts)
  • N2, NG Facility Maintenance (checking/replacing meters, supervising PSC Popping test construction)
  • Facility Management (creating/updating history and logs, cleaning facilities and rooms)
  • Boiler and HVAC specific facility management (supervising pipe cleaning, preparing for legal inspections)
  • Chiller specific facility management (purchasing/managing inventory of C/T chemicals)
  • Troubleshooting facility malfunctions
  • Other tasks as necessary to meet the organization's objectives
  • Perform routine tasks required for floor operations, such as equipment operation, equipment maintenance, and quality inspections
  • Communicate through written, verbal, and other forms of communication and follow instructions from superiors
