Facility Compliance Specialist - Warren Correctional Institution
About The Position
The Facility Compliance Specialist works at Warren Correctional Institution, a mixed-custody male correctional facility, reporting directly to the Warden and indirectly to the Division Audit Administrator. The position provides guidance on accreditation and compliance, coordinates audits and inspections, monitors strategic-plan and performance measures, and works with facility and division leadership to improve prison operations. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with established hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; work beyond the normal schedule may be required to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience related to the area of assignment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Nice To Haves
- Documented knowledge of prison policy and procedures and/or facility operations.
- Documented experience with report writing.
- Documented knowledge of federal PREA compliance procedures.
- Documented knowledge of audit and inspection procedures in corrections.
- Documented experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on guidance and assistance to assigned facility section heads regarding ACA and PREA audits.
- Provide technical guidance to the Warden or Wardens.
- Coordinate internal compliance audits, safety and health audits and inspections, and region inspections.
- Ensure standard operating procedures and post orders comply with audit standards and division policy.
- Coordinate monitoring of the strategic plan and key performance indicators.
- Serve as the Facility Public Information Officer.
- Collaborate with prison section heads, the Warden, Region Director, Region Compliance Manager, Division Audit Administrator, Director of Performance and Standards, and other Division Directors to develop strategies to enhance prison operations, using operational audit results and other measures developed by the section.
