About The Position

Provide basic barber and grooming services to the resident population in accordance with agency policy. The role is based at the Virginia Center for Behavioral Rehabilitation and includes afternoon/evening hours, with availability for alternate schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Possess a valid Virginia cosmetologist license.
Have proficient technical skills in basic barber and grooming services and use of barber tools.
Be able to identify existing or potential scalp problems.
Be able to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, and facility staff.
Be able to read, write, and perform simple mathematical computations for documentation and reporting.
Have fundamental knowledge of the principles, practices, services, and techniques unique to a therapeutic community environment.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing; basic word-processing and computer skills are preferred.
Use good judgment and perform duties at a fast pace with frequent change.
Be able to interact with professionals from various disciplines.
Be able to administer CPR and First Aid.
Be available to work alternate schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Undergo an extensive background investigation and pre-employment drug screen.
