Bi-Lingual Facility Attendant - PRN
About The Position
Merakey is seeking a PRN Bilingual Facility Attendant for its Fresh Start transitional housing program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fresh Start provides 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with histories of homelessness, chemical dependency, and/or behavioral health issues. The program has more than 150 beds across 12 Philadelphia locations and works with the Philadelphia VA Medical Center and Philadelphia's Office of Addiction Services. It also offers self-pay housing for indefinite stays. Facility Attendants monitor residents' behavior and help maintain a safe, harassment-free environment conducive to recovery. They perform building cleanliness and safety checks, including in all rooms; document and promptly report incidents according to Merakey policies; monitor residents taking prescribed medication and report medication-monitoring issues; oversee assigned chores when applicable; ensure general inspections are completed properly; and complete required training within mandated time frames. The position pays $19.36 per hour and is PRN.
Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Effective communication skills.
- At least 18 years old.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with the VA population.
- Prior experience in a residential or drug and alcohol treatment setting.
Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' behavior and help ensure a safe, harassment-free atmosphere conducive to recovery.
- Perform building checks for cleanliness and safety, including checks of all rooms.
- Write incident reports, immediately report incidents to the supervisor or program manager, and follow Merakey policy and procedures.
- Monitor residents while they take prescribed medication and report medication-monitoring issues to the immediate supervisor in accordance with incident-reporting policy.
- Monitor assigned chores when applicable and ensure general inspections are completed properly.
- Complete assigned training within mandated time frames.
