About The Position

Astronics AES is seeking a Facilities Technician to join our team in Redmond, WA. This is an onsite position, working Monday - Friday in the facility. The Facilities Technician will assist in the maintenance and upkeep of facilities. Perform maintenance including snow/ice removal, trash removal and other duties as assigned. Provide facility related assistance to Facility Manager/Supervisor, Senior Management, Information Technology department, and Operations/Engineering departments.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • 1-2 years' experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools.
  • Must understand the operation and maintenance of plant facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to learn to attain basic Microsoft Office software skills. (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Able to use hand and power tools such as drills, saws, cutters, pressure washer, pliers, paint rollers/brushes, air compressor, and screw drivers.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work standing up and/or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Able to work with a computer and view a computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Able to kneel or sit for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general repair and maintenance work including light painting, basic plumbing, general cleaning, and preventative maintenance in facilities.
  • Respond to Help Desk requests from employees and assist front lobby as needed.
  • Schedule and coordinate the work of outside vendors/contractors.
  • Monitor performance of vendors and janitorial work daily.
  • Perform escort duty of visitors as needed.
  • Drive utility vehicle Bobcat, light duty box truck, and electric work assist vehicles.
  • Ensure that facility buildings and grounds are clean, safe, and presentable to employees and visitors.
  • Perform HVAC adjustments as needed via electronic management system software.
  • Removal of ice and snow from building sidewalks and parking lot as needed.
  • Operate site equipment including hand and power tools to complete tasks.
  • Perform tasks in energized electronics production facility, environmental stress screening areas, and other production areas with noise.
