About The Position

The Facilities Technician is a full-time position responsible for leading and elevating the Facilities team in delivering excellent, consistent, and servant-hearted care of the church campus. The role focuses on creating clean, safe, beautiful, and fully prepared spaces that support life-changing encounters with God. This position models ownership, excellence, and Christ-like leadership while mentoring part-time staff, volunteers, and community service workers, ensuring high standards, clear communication, a proactive mindset, and joyful teamwork. Flexibility is required for early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events to meet ministry needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in custodial, facilities maintenance, building operations, or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of custodial best practices, cleaning chemicals, equipment operation, and safety standards.
  • Experience with large-scale room setups, event support, and space management.
  • Physically capable — able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform active tasks throughout long shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned shifts, providing clear direction to Facilities Tech I staff, Helpers, and community service workers.
  • Independently lead full shifts as the designated Shift Lead, following assignments and helping the team set priorities, monitor progress, and ensure quality completion.
  • Consistently execute and oversee high-quality room setups/teardowns for weekend services, midweek events, and special programs.
  • Provide real-time coaching, feedback, and encouragement to part-time staff, helpers, volunteers, and community service workers.
  • Conduct effective end-of-shift walkthroughs to verify readiness and cleanliness.
  • Train and onboard new Facilities Tech I staff and Facilities Helpers effectively.
  • Proactively identify facility needs, supply issues, equipment concerns, or process improvements and communicate them clearly.
  • Manage Community Service Orientation and management as needed.
  • Perform and model top-tier custodial cleaning, room setups/teardowns, trash/recycling, restocking, and light maintenance.
  • Enforce safety protocols, proper chemical/equipment use, and careful stewardship of all resources.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to bi-weekly Facilities team meetings and bi-weekly All Staff Meetings and worship sessions.
