We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story. We have obtained FDA approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients! In this role, you will be joining Kardium’s Manufacturing Engineering team, working closely to support support renovations, facility upgrades, retrofits, modernizations, and repairs. The Facility Technician is responsible for overseeing the operations of plant and facilities equipment. Please note, this opportunity is an on-site work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Technical diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment such as ISO13485 or AS9100 preferred
  • Experience working in a cleanroom environment is desirable
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment an advantage but not mandatory
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Work on the installation of critical facility infrastructure
  • Monitor and troubleshoot systems such as HVAC, compressed air, water purification systems, building management systems and environmental monitoring systems
  • Act as first level escalation for facilities equipment failures
  • Design and install fixtures, equipment and infrastructure to improve manufacturing processes
  • Gather and assess data and reports to develop conclusions that guide decision-making and planning processes
  • Support facility expansions and layouts
  • Assess utilities and operational setups to optimize operational efficiencies
  • Prepare facility reports and compliance records
  • Oversee contractors handling maintenance tasks
  • Follow facility regulations, safety standards and building codes
  • Predict problems or risks and develop plans to avoid or mitigate them
