About The Position

The Facilities Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and optimizing critical utility systems that support BAE Systems’ 120,000-square-foot Microelectronics Center. The role ensures uninterrupted delivery of high-purity water, industrial steam, and chemical treatment services while maintaining a sterile and safe environment. Systems must comply with environmental regulations and stringent semiconductor purity standards.

Requirements

At least 5 years of relevant commercial or industrial experience.
High school diploma.
Basic computer skills for maintaining site reports, spreadsheets, and preventive maintenance logs, and for using a computerized maintenance work order system.

Nice To Haves

Gas Service Technician license.
Trade license in HVAC or plumbing.
Ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain industrial boilers and the steam distribution system to provide consistent thermal energy for heating and humidifying office and laboratory spaces.
Manage the operation and maintenance of the deionized water production system, ensuring that production quality meets specifications.
Oversee the on-site wastewater treatment plant and ensure effluent complies with local, state, and federal environmental discharge permits.
Maintain and monitor closed-loop cooling and heating systems to support heat-exchange efficiency and reliability.
Execute scheduled preventive maintenance using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Respond to emergency system alarms and perform rapid troubleshooting.
Maintain safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements when handling hazardous chemicals.
