Facilities Technician 1
About The Position
At Maverik, the Facilities Technician 1 supports stores by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and general trade work across building systems and equipment. The role helps ensure facilities and equipment remain safe, efficient, and in good condition to support store performance and guest experience. The position is based in the Grand Junction, Colorado area and requires travel to assigned stores. The technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on store facilities, machinery, and specialized food-service equipment; diagnoses mechanical problems; and completes basic electrical, plumbing, and structural repairs. Duties may be added, deleted, or changed at management’s discretion based on business needs. Scheduling, shift assignments, and work location may also change as business needs require.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Ability to lift and carry materials or equipment weighing up to 150 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with ticket management systems such as ServiceNow or Cherwell.
Responsibilities
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on stores and equipment.
- Perform basic trade work, including electrical and plumbing tasks; assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Use common hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions, consulting blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed.
- Paint or repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures.
- Review gauges, dials, and other indicators to verify that machines are working properly.
- Maintain and repair specialized food-service equipment and machinery.
- Perform general cleaning of buildings or properties.
- Travel to assigned stores in the Grand Junction, Colorado area.
