About The Position

With direction from the Director of Operations, the Facilities Supervisor is responsible for project and/or task management, and staff delegation and scheduling. This role routinely performs manual or technical skills as it pertains to maintaining the buildings and property in quality condition. The supervisor will repair and conduct preventive and regular maintenance of buildings, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and ensure department tasks are completed in compliance with grant, OSHA, or other ODM related policies. Supervisors provide input to the hiring process, accountability among the team, and escalate performance concerns to the Director of Facilities and/or Vice President of Operations. This is a position of influence and must reflect the faith and values of Open Door Mission and its mission of Restoring Hope and Changing Lives. This person will always communicate with professionalism. Unless otherwise noted as non-driving, all facility workers are expected to know how to operate ODM fleet vehicles. Per the department of transportation, this position is required to undergo and pass a drug test and physical fitness. The driver must have a clean driving record in order to be approved per insurance standards, which includes a check for DUI/DWI, history of a suspended license, and/or vehicular manslaughter.

  • Must be a high school graduate or have a GED
  • Graduation within skilled trade preferred; or, experience demonstrating advanced level of understanding in building maintenance, carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing to determine accuracy and acceptability of work by team

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Operations Director in daily operations of repair and maintenance; promptly handle all work orders
  • Implements staffing schedule for facility technicians, custodians, and drivers.
  • Ensure that premises and equipment are well maintained, clean and safe; reviewing work of staff and providing feedback to director
  • Administer approved procedures pertaining to assignment of tasks, use of equipment, safety, preventative maintenance and repairs
  • Ensure the efficient and prompt handling of all department work, to include but not limited to facility, driving and custodial assignments - performing and assisting as needed or Provide task oversight of volunteers and vocational programs students as needed
  • Conduct safety inspections as instructed
  • Keep Director informed and communicate appropriately with staff and outside security vendors
  • Ensure work orders are fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner; complete paperwork/documentation accordingly
  • Assist the Director in readying the annual completion of insurance certifications and guiding the team in the compliance; including but not limited to the CofO enforcement, Safety and OSHA, alarm contractors, auto, MCDH
  • Walk through all facilities on a daily to semi-weekly basis noting conditions and needed repairs
  • Monitor conditions of vehicles and oversee use
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
