About The Position

The Facilities Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, ensuring buildings, equipment, and systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing are properly maintained and repaired. This role supervises and schedules maintenance staff, supports hiring and performance management, and ensures work is completed safely, correctly, and on time. The supervisor also evaluates facility needs, develops maintenance plans and procedures, and assists with budgeting and reporting to leadership. The Facilities Supervisor will report to the Facilities Manager and work on site at our Osakis location.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Experience supporting the maintenance of machines and other equipment in a production environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed.
  • Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • B.S. or equivalent work experience or any combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least five years of facilities and maintenance experience required.
  • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose building issues and plan repairs or maintenance.
  • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and lift up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Facilities Management from IFMA or BOMI

Responsibilities

  • Supervisor employees who are engaged in maintaining and repairing equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
  • Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
  • Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
  • Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
  • Prepares reports and present information to higher levels of management as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate administration of existing plans and guidelines.
  • May allocate time to perform the same duties as subordinate employees.
  • May identify opportunities for enhancements to existing operating procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
