About The Position

Join the Urban Barn team as a Facilities & Store Project Coordinator at our Home Office located in Burnaby, BC. With over 50 retail stores across the country, Urban Barn is a nationally recognized retailer known for high-quality furniture and inspiring home décor. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Store Operations, the Facilities & Store Project Coordinator will manage the day-to-day facilities and maintenance needs of Urban Barn’s chain of retail stores, as well as construction-related projects.

Requirements

  • Experience in facilities coordination, store development, construction, project management, or retail operations.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple stakeholders
  • Experience working with vendors, contractors, and service agreements
  • Ability to read and interpret project scopes, repair proposals, and store design requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to multitask.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally and support projects outside regular business hours when needed

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day facilities maintenance, repairs, and vendor management across multiple store locations
  • Maintain and build working relationships with property managers, landlords, and general contractors.
  • Review repair proposals, validate service recommendations, and ensure work is completed on time and within budget
  • Support store projects including renovations, relocations, openings, and closures from planning to completion
  • Partner closely with leadership teams to manage project timelines, store layouts, construction progress, and operational readiness
  • Conduct occasional store visits and site inspections to ensure brand standards, safety compliance, and quality expectations are maintained
  • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and reliable service
  • Track project budgets, timelines, and reporting while identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
