About The Position

This role involves managing diverse teams, including internal stakeholders and external consultants, vendors, and contractors, within a matrixed organization. The primary focus is on developing and implementing facility maintenance standards, procedures, and guidelines, coordinating with the corporate facilities organization. Responsibilities include managing construction projects from specification development and cost estimation to overseeing schedules and budgets. The position requires strong communication skills for presenting capital project updates to leadership and maintaining facilities footprint metrics for the region. A key aspect is enforcing corporate Preventative Maintenance and KPI standards, supporting local facility leaders in planning, budgeting, and scheduling modifications. The role also involves auditing and setting standards for facility maintenance, plant health, and safety, potentially establishing annual facility budgets and roadmaps, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and improving space, investment, and utility cost optimization. Regular risk assessments and mitigation plans are necessary to ensure continuous and efficient facility operations. The role includes selecting, developing, and evaluating personnel for efficient facilities operation.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree preferably in an engineering or construction-related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering or construction management
  • 5+ years of experience managing construction projects in a corporate setting
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom environments, tool installation and hookups.
  • Proficiency with Work Order platforms and KPI reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of BMS reporting and management solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with multiple contractors simultaneously.
  • Strong project/construction management leadership and collaboration skills, including scope development, equipment layout planning, RFP development, contractor selection, construction management to budget and schedule.
  • General knowledge of EH&S methods and handling of hazardous and toxic substances.
  • Able to execute plans, programs, and goals, motivate and engage the workforce, evaluate work accomplishments and provide effective feedback/solutions.
  • Ability to deal effectively with differences of opinion, to influence, to draw ideas from others, and to negotiate and mediate.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and the ability to comprehend and communicate at multiple levels within and outside the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Support local Facility leaders and manage diverse teams including both internal stakeholders and external consultants, vendors, contractors and other resources.
  • Develop and implement facility maintenance standards, procedures, and guidelines in coordination with the corporate facilities organization, including establishing KPI’s and documenting progress against those in regular mgmt. updates.
  • Coordinate and develop project specifications, estimate cost and resources, hire supporting resources and contractors, manage construction activity, and oversee schedules and budgets.
  • Compile and present capital project updates to functional and business leadership in the provided standardized formats.
  • Maintain facilities footprint metrics for the full region according to the corporate standards and report those metrics regularly to the worldwide head of facilities.
  • Enforce the corporate Preventative Maintenance and KPI standards throughout the region.
  • Support local facility leaders to plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
  • Maintain Confidentiality as this position has access to technical processes and equipment, certain strategic and business plans.
  • Responsible for auditing and helping to set standards for facility maintenance as well as physical plant health and safety.
  • Establish annual facility budgets & roadmaps.
  • Identify opportunities for savings, without sacrificing quality of services or reliability of facilities operation.
  • Continuously look for ways to improve optimization of facilities space, investment and utilities cost.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure continuous, efficient operation of facilities.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the facilities operation.
