About The Position

The Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of facilities maintenance, custodial, and grounds services within the Housing and Residence Life (HRL) building portfolio. This role includes managing the HRL fleet vehicles and ensuring that all facilities operations meet quality standards and are efficiently managed. This role involves regular interaction with students, parents, and various stakeholders, requiring a high level of professionalism and empathy. The Facilities Operations Manager will work closely with the facilities management team to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of relevant experience. An additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree for a total of six years of relevant experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in handling various situations.
  • A positive and proactive attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in property management or a similar role.
  • Training in conflict resolution or mediation.
  • Strong facilities and building systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate with Facilities Management on maintenance, custodial, and grounds services to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of HRL fleet vehicles.
  • Regularly meet with the Housing Zone Manager from Facilities Management to ensure quality standards are met and outstanding issues are resolved.
  • Distribute communications to appropriate stakeholders regarding facilities operations and issues.
  • Communicate directly with students and/or parents to address and resolve facilities issues.
  • Employ strong communication skills, both written and oral, and demonstrate soft skills such as active listening, empathy, problem-solving, and adaptability.
