About The Position

The Facilities Manager (FM) is responsible for operating a clean, safe, sustainable, high-quality facility by leading the custodial team to enhance the learning environment. Facilities Managers exemplify IDEA’s commitment to excellence through successful hiring, development, and retention of custodial staff. IDEA Public Schools is a multi-state network of tuition-free, Pre-K-12 public charter schools serving over 80,000 college-bound students.

Requirements

HS diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or construction
Minimum of 2 years of experience directly managing or leading a team
Ability and experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

Nice To Haves

Certifications or Licenses in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing
Written and Oral Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency

Responsibilities

Manage the custodial team to enhance the learning environment.
Ensure campus is safe and operational one week before the First Day of School.
Achieve an A rating in the Facilities Comprehensive Audit.
Complete the Facilities QuickStart checklist.
Ensure 100% of required Safe Schools and Roadmap trainings are completed.
Maintain an efficient operation to achieve campus cost per square foot allocation.
Serve as a financial steward by generating a 10% surplus over budgeted allocation.
Generate a 5% annual saving in utilities expense.
Manage overtime to ensure payroll costs fall within budget.
Business partner with campus leaders for capital expenditure projects.
Ensure 85% retention of Custodial Staff.
Increase development and training of staff through weekly check-ins and daily huddles.
Groom at least one custodian for the Facilities Manager role within 18 months.
Ensure 80% of facilities requisitions are entered within 3 days of service.
Maintain budget accuracy and 100% adherence to the IDEA Procurement Policy.
Maintain 95% customer satisfaction of maintenance work orders.
Deploy team to efficiently resolve issues.
