The Facilities Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate records, coordinating with the corporate office on repairs and information updates, and reviewing contractual agreements and warranties. The position also involves managing building repair and maintenance activities, conducting regular inspections for needed repairs, and ensuring cleaning company meets contractual obligations. Additionally, the role ensures operational readiness of copier equipment, manages audio/visual needs, maintains phones and radios, and coordinates end-of-year locker cleanup and maintenance. The Facilities Manager also arranges transportation for school trips, schedules fire drills, assists with campus control and security, and maintains HVAC, key, and alarm systems. Responsibilities extend to confirming fire evacuation routes, coordinating facility and custodial needs for scheduled events, maintaining timelines for school opening, and overseeing the daily opening and closing of facilities. The role determines equipment obsolescence, sets maintenance priorities, develops preventive maintenance programs and emergency repair systems, and devises strategies to reduce vandalism, theft, and arson, while safeguarding school property and maintaining security procedures. The Facilities Manager also inspects buildings and grounds, conducts fire and tornado drills, manages the raising and lowering of the national flag, supervises custodial services, and collaborates with local police on security matters. Finally, the role assists in coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
