About The Position

Under general supervision, receives, sorts, and distributes incoming mail and parcels. Collects and processes outgoing mail parcels. Operates postage machine and other mailroom equipment as needed. Assist in the operation of all mailroom activities. Escorts various facility service vendors throughout corporate office space providing both access and oversight as needed. Provides the highest level of customer service in responding to and resolving internal helpdesk request for a range of facility related services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, Required General Education Degree (GED), in lieu of H.S. Diploma
  • One (1) year, working in a mailroom
  • Valid Maryland Drivers License with clean driving record
  • Ability to work in fast moving environment
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to deliver high levels of customer service in a corporate environment.
  • Proficiency in operating a postage meter.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of standard postal mail and shipping regulations.
  • Ability to lift/move objects up to 75 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, able to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Picks up company mail from United States Post Office twice daily.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing mail with speed and accuracy.
  • Utilizes package tracking software to maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and packages for shipment including weighing, calculating postage, and applying labels.
  • Coordinates service to branch offices with contract courier.
  • Uses knowledge of postal regulations and safety to check for suspicious mail.
  • Manage inventory of mailroom supplies and reorder as needed.
  • Provides access and oversight to secured areas for approved vendors to delivery facility services.
  • Establishes excellent working relationships with all mailroom and facility service vendors.
  • Performs general facility support tasks: delivery of supplies, set up meeting and conference rooms.
  • Provides transportation to special events for MECU staff.
  • Performs minor furniture repairs and adjustments.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
