Facilities Maintenance Tech
About The Position
The Facilities Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building systems and infrastructure across the company’s facilities in the United States. The role performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maintain a comfortable environment for occupants. The technician works with facility managers and other team members to prioritize tasks and respond to emergency repairs. By identifying potential issues and implementing preventive maintenance, the technician helps extend equipment lifespan and reduce operating costs, supporting the functionality and safety of the facilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related technical field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for up to eight hours at a time.
- Ability to lift and carry approximately 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk, squat, bend, stoop, stand, listen, read, and write.
Nice To Haves
- Technical certification or vocational training in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and building codes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if required.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose and repair building-system malfunctions promptly to minimize operational disruption.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status using facility management software.
- Coordinate larger repair projects and upgrades with facility management and external contractors.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency maintenance requests to support occupant safety and comfort.
- Follow safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities.
- Assist with managing maintenance-supply and equipment inventory.
