About The Position

Archuleta County is seeking a qualified 1/2 time Facilities Maintenance Technician and 1/2 time Land Stewardship Tech. This position is a shared role between Weed & Pest and Facilities. The employee will work as a Land Stewardship Tech from April through October and as a Facilities Maintenance Tech from mid-October through the end of May. The Facilities Maintenance Technician performs semi-skilled work in basic carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance of County facilities, assisting in maintaining the soundness, appearance, and safety of County buildings and grounds. The Land Stewardship Tech assists in locating and identifying weed and pest infestations and performs control methods and techniques for the management of County wetlands, right-of-ways, range land, and private property.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Driver's License at place of residency.

Responsibilities

  • Performs semi-skilled work in basic carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance of County facilities.
  • Assists in maintaining the soundness, appearance, and safety of County buildings and grounds.
  • Assists in locating and identifying weed and pest infestation.
  • Performs control methods and techniques for management of County wetlands, right-of-ways, range land, and private property.
