About The Position
The Mechanic II is responsible for preventive and standard maintenance of mechanical equipment and associated systems at Carle facilities. The role requires knowledge of fire alarm, plumbing, HVAC, and sprinkler systems and assists Facilities Mechanics III, IV, and the Lead as directed.
Requirements
- Illinois driver’s license.
- Facility operations work experience.
- Knowledge of fire alarm, plumbing, HVAC, and sprinkler systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs all essential job functions of Maintenance Mechanic I.
- Identifies and corrects equipment malfunctions in emergencies, including power failures and water leaks.
- Identifies and corrects mechanical and minor electrical deficiencies.
- Detects structural, general carpentry, and roofing problems and corrects them or arranges for the appropriate trades to do so.
- Conducts mechanical and, to some degree, electrical preventive maintenance checks.
- Performs assigned preventive maintenance.
- Coordinates and plans relocation of personnel, furniture, and equipment.
- Installs furniture, cabinetry, and some medical equipment.
