About The Position
Friendly Senior Living is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic to help maintain a comfortable, safe, and welcoming environment for Members at Friendly Home. The role involves hands-on work across building systems and maintenance needs, including HVAC, boilers, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, preventative maintenance, grounds, and general repairs. The mechanic works alongside an experienced team and may support other departments and facility operations as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Hands-on knowledge of common building systems, tools, and maintenance practices.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- A dependable, team-oriented, service-focused approach.
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
- Valid New York State driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- 2–3 years of HVAC, boiler, or general building maintenance experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building repairs, painting, carpentry, and maintenance throughout the community.
- Assist with HVAC, boiler, plumbing, electrical, and other building systems.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance work.
- Assist with grounds maintenance and snow removal.
- Help maintain building security and respond appropriately to fire alarms and other facility needs.
- Support other departments and facility operations as needed.
- Follow established safety procedures and participate in required training.
