About The Position

The Facilities I, DC performs housekeeping and janitorial duties to help maintain a safe, clean environment for employees and customers at SanMar’s distribution center in Sparks, Nevada. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing the building, replenishing restroom and break-room supplies, and completing assigned tasks and other duties as needed. The position is based in a warehouse environment and has a scheduled shift from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least six months of experience in a related field.
Ability to read and write, identify label information, and communicate verbally with staff appropriately.
Ability to follow directions and adapt to changing priorities or duties as business needs require.
Good communication skills and excellent organization skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities.
Ability to read a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and know where MSDS books are located in the facility.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify areas needing immediate attention and respond promptly.
Self-starter with initiative; able to work efficiently with minimal supervision, independently, and as part of a team.
Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
Regular and prompt attendance.
Ability to work overtime as required, which may include weekends.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of floor care, floor-care chemicals, sanitizers, and building maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize the building daily, including removing trash, sweeping and mopping restroom and break-room floors, and vacuuming carpets in offices and the showroom.
Restock supplies in restrooms and the break room as needed.
Maintain a daily log of assigned and completed tasks if required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all policies and standards, including internal personal protective equipment requirements.
