About The Position

The Facilities I, DC performs housekeeping and janitorial duties to help maintain a safe and clean environment for employees and customers. The role is based at a distribution center and involves routine cleaning, supply restocking, and following company policies and standards. The employee may also keep a daily log of assigned and completed tasks and perform other duties as assigned.

The work is performed under typical warehouse conditions in a moderately noisy, hectic, and fast-paced environment. Conditions may include dust, changing weather, extreme heat or cold, and potential hazards from machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and mechanized systems. The employee may work near conveyor systems and may be required to wear a headset.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least six months of experience in a related field.
• Ability to read and write, identify label information, and communicate verbally with staff appropriately.
• Ability to follow directions and adjust priorities or duties as business needs require.
• Good communication skills.
• Strong organization skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Ability to read a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and know where MSDS books are located in the facility.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify areas needing immediate attention and respond promptly.
• Self-starter with initiative.
• Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision, both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to comprehend verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including standing and walking constantly; frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds; and frequently reaching, grasping, performing repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions, climbing stairs, kneeling or squatting, bending, and carrying.
• Ability to meet the role's vision requirements, including close and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Basic literacy for operating machines and completing necessary daily paperwork.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of floor care, floor-care chemicals, sanitizers, and building-maintenance equipment.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize the building daily, including removing trash, sweeping and mopping restroom and break-room floors, and vacuuming carpets in offices and the showroom.
• Restock supplies in restrooms and the break room as needed.
• Maintain a daily log of assigned and completed tasks when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with all policies and standards, including internal Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
• Attend work regularly and promptly.
• Work overtime as required, which may include weekends.
