About The Position

Performs custodial duties throughout the Gardens and all Bok Tower Gardens facilities. The role works both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and includes maintaining public areas and assisting visitors.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of custodial or janitorial experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and punctual.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions.
• Ability to operate standard custodial and janitorial equipment, including ladders, step stools, handcarts, vacuum cleaners, mops, and brooms.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to drive golf carts safely through the Gardens.
• Excellent internal customer service skills.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including summer and winter climates.
• Ability to tolerate some exposure to general janitorial cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to perform occasional reaching, stooping, bending, crouching, repetitive arm motions, or light lifting up to 60 pounds, and continuous communication or interaction with staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash from outside trash cans throughout the Gardens.
• Check, stock, and clean restrooms according to schedule or as needed.
• Sweep outdoor walkways near the Visitor Center, Café, and Gift Shop as needed.
• Clean and maintain Bok Tower Gardens buildings, including the Visitor Center, Exhibit Hall, bathrooms, Theatre, Horticulture Offices and Building, Information Booth, Annex Storage, Olmsted house, North Walk Restrooms, Discovery Center Restrooms, and Discovery Center Classroom.
• Sweep, mop, collect trash, dust ceilings and walls, and clean interior and exterior windows and mirrors.
• Be visible and available to assist visitors with questions or problems.
• Monitor public facilities, including gardens, restrooms, and picnic areas, to ensure cleanliness and presentation for the public.
