About The Position

The Facilities Support Assistant is an entry-level, hands-on role providing day-to-day support for facilities, fleet, and site operations for a local government department serving 250+ employees. This position assists with basic coordination, setups, cleanliness, and operational support under the direction of the Facilities Manager. Training is provided. This role requires travel between sites, outdoor work, and physical activity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Entry-level knowledge or interest in facilities, maintenance, or operations
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine facility maintenance needs and submit or support work order requests
  • Support workstation setup for employee onboarding and offboarding
  • Respond to basic office and workstation maintenance requests
  • Assist with meeting and event setup and breakdown
  • Support keys, signage, facility access, and general upkeep
  • Perform daily fleet cleanliness checks; assist with refueling and vehicle rotation
  • Assist with opening and closing a county-managed cemetery (up to 3x per week)
  • Schedule vendors for grounds and facility upkeep
  • Assist vendors/contractors on site and support burial day logistics (2 days per month)
