About The Position

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center is seeking a Facilities Assistant to support the Facilities Manager. This role involves responding to maintenance requests, assisting with property upkeep, and performing general cleaning and repairs. The O'Neill is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to the development of new works and artists for the stage, operating on an 11-acre campus in Waterford, Connecticut. The organization is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.

Requirements

• Some professional experience in facilities or maintenance.
• Comfortable working with power tools.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge in electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests from staff, artists, and guests promptly and professionally.
• Assist with landscaping and maintenance of the 11-acre O’Neill property, including mowing and edging lawns, mulching, pruning bushes and gardens.
• Assist in routine upkeep of all interior and exterior spaces by performing preventative maintenance and repair.
• Perform daily general clean up of all areas as directed by gathering and emptying trash and servicing restrooms.
• Other duties as assigned.
