About The Position

We are building a brand-new team in Northern Virginia and are looking for outgoing, motivated individuals to represent nonprofit organizations. As a Face-to-Face Fundraiser / Canvasser, you will engage with people in the community to discuss important causes such as child poverty, disaster relief, education, and supporting vulnerable communities. This role is active and requires spending most of your shift outdoors, walking, standing, and interacting with people face-to-face, regardless of weather conditions. It is not a desk job and is ideal for individuals who prefer an active role and enjoy meeting new people.

Requirements

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
• Must live in Virginia and plan to stay in Virginia throughout employment.
• Must be able to consistently work at least 3 full shifts per week.
• Must be comfortable being outdoors, on your feet, and walking for most of the shift.
• Must be able to communicate confidently in English.
• Bring energy, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
• Be naturally social and comfortable starting conversations with strangers.
• Like being active and prefer to be on your feet.
• Ability to bounce back when someone says “no”.
• Care about nonprofit, humanitarian, environmental, or social justice causes.
• Interest in advocacy, community work, public speaking, or making an impact.
• Enjoy working toward goals and getting people excited about taking action.
• Reliable.

Nice To Haves

• Full-time employment preferred, especially for those interested in leadership roles.
• Experience in fundraising, canvassing, community organizing, customer service, sales, or the nonprofit sector.
• Military spouses are encouraged to apply.
