About The Position

We are building a brand-new team in Boston and looking for outgoing, motivated people who like being around others, want to make an impact, and are ready to build skills they can take with them wherever they go. As a Face-to-Face Fundraiser / Canvasser, you'll be out in the community representing nonprofit organizations and starting real conversations with people about causes like child poverty, disaster relief, education, and supporting vulnerable communities. This is an active role where you'll spend most of your shift outside, walking, standing, and talking to people face-to-face – rain or shine.

Requirements

• Must be 18+ years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
• Must live in Virginia and plan to stay in Virginia throughout employment.
• Must be able to consistently work at least 3 full shifts per week.
• Must be comfortable being outdoors, on your feet, and walking for most of your shift.
• Must be able to communicate confidently in English.
• Bring energy, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
• Be naturally social and don't mind starting conversations with strangers.
• Like being active and would rather be on your feet than behind a desk.
• Can bounce back when someone says “no”.
• Care about nonprofit, humanitarian, environmental, or social justice causes.
• Are interested in advocacy, community work, public speaking, or making an impact.
• Enjoy working toward goals and getting people excited about taking action.
• Are reliable and can commit to a consistent schedule.
• Want to build communication, confidence, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

• Fundraising experience is not required, but a willingness to learn is key.
• Experience as a canvasser, community organizer, student, recent graduate, hospitality or customer service, salesperson, volunteer, or someone looking to break into the nonprofit world.
