About The Position

VSC Fire & Security is seeking a Fabricator in Houston, Texas. The role involves fitting and welding steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel parts using the TIG process, setting up welding machines according to job requirements and Welding Procedure Specifications, and assembling parts. The Fabricator works with team members to support productivity and efficiency, maintains clean and organized work areas and equipment, and follows applicable safety and risk-management procedures. This is a safety-sensitive role that may involve motor vehicles, mobile equipment, working at heights, climbing ladders, and using lift equipment. Requirements

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine specific requirements.
Ability to operate machinery used in production or assist machine operators.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy, with an emphasis on safety and quality standards.
Professional and friendly demeanor in internal and external transactions.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Fit and weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel parts using the TIG process.
Set up welding machines based on the job and the applicable Welding Procedure Specification.
Assemble parts and complete tasks assigned by a supervisor.
Keep work areas clean and organized and properly care for equipment and facilities.
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
Maintain proper risk-management and safety procedures on job sites in accordance with VSC policies.
Uphold applicable ISO and OSHA standards.
