About The Position

VSC Fire & Security is seeking a Fabricator in Houston, Texas. The company provides fire protection, life-safety, and security solutions, including fire suppression and detection systems, sprinklers, alarms, and security systems. The Fabricator fits and welds steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel parts using a TIG process, sets up welding machines according to the job and its Welding Procedure Specification, and assembles parts. The role requires following applicable ISO, OSHA, company safety, and risk-management procedures while maintaining equipment and a clean, organized work area. This is a safety-sensitive role that may involve motor vehicles, mobile equipment, working at heights, climbing ladders, and using lift equipment. Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and/or drawings to determine specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Fit and weld steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel parts using a TIG process.
• Set up welding machines for each job based on a Welding Procedure Specification.
• Operate production machinery or assist machine operators.
• Assemble parts and complete other tasks assigned by a supervisor.
• Keep work areas clean and organized and properly care for equipment and facilities.
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
• Maintain proper risk-management and safety procedures on job sites in accordance with VSC policies.
• Uphold applicable ISO and OSHA standards.
