About The Position

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fabricator for the Fire Fabrication Shop. The role is responsible for fabricating pipe for fire protection systems. The position requires using machinery, interpreting instructions and measurements, assembling and checking pipe components, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The work is on the second shift and requires Saturday work, with extended hours and weekends as needed.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Read a tape measure to ¼ inch.
• Be dependable, with good attendance and a positive attitude.
• Have a good work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Communicate ideas and thoughts verbally and in writing.
• Work Saturdays; missed Saturday work counts against the attendance record.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Follow directions and communicate with others.
• Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Stand, bend, twist, and walk during 8–12-hour shifts.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Use various machinery.
• Study and interpret assembly instructions.
• Listen to directions from supervisors.
• Fabricate and assemble pipe according to instructions.
• Read parts lists and determine whether all parts are present.
• Assemble tools, materials, and various components.
• Interpret measurements and verify specifications.
• Ensure all parts are fitted and screwed in properly.
• Resolve assembly and production issues with management assistance.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
• Ensure the working environment is clean and safe.
• Report errors in production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
