About The Position

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fabricator for the Fire Fabrication Shop. The role is responsible for fabricating pipe for fire protection systems. The position requires working the second shift and Saturdays, with extended hours and weekends as required. Employees are offered a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

• Read a tape measure down to ¼ inch.
• Be dependable, with good attendance, a positive attitude, and a good work ethic.
• Show a willingness to learn.
• Communicate ideas and information verbally and in writing.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to follow directions and communicate with others.
• Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Stand, bend, twist, and walk during 8–12-hour shifts.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
• Be able to work Saturdays; missing a scheduled Saturday will count against the attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Use various machinery.
• Study and interpret assembly instructions and follow supervisors’ directions.
• Fabricate and assemble pipe according to instructions.
• Read parts lists and determine whether all parts are present.
• Assemble tools, materials, and components.
• Interpret measurements and verify specifications.
• Ensure parts are fitted and screwed in properly.
• Resolve assembly and production issues with management assistance.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
• Keep the work environment clean and safe.
• Report production errors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
