2nd Shift Fabricator
About The Position
Shambaugh & Son is seeking a Fabricator for the Fire Fabrication Shop. The role fabricates and assembles pipe for fire protection systems using various machinery and following instructions and specifications. The Fabricator reads parts lists and measurements, verifies that components are present and properly fitted, and helps resolve production issues. The position requires working the second shift and Saturdays, with extended hours and weekends as needed. The job involves standing, bending, twisting, and walking during 8–12-hour shifts, as well as regularly pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
- Ability to read a tape measure to ¼ inch.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Dependability, reliable attendance, and a positive attitude.
- Good work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Ability to follow directions and communicate with others.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to push, pull, or regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, twist, and walk for 8–12-hour shifts.
- Must be able to work Saturdays; missing Saturday work counts against the attendance record.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
Responsibilities
- Use various machinery.
- Study and interpret assembly instructions and follow supervisors’ directions.
- Fabricate and assemble pipe according to instructions.
- Read parts lists and determine whether all parts are present.
- Assemble tools, materials, and components.
- Interpret measurements and verify specifications.
- Ensure parts are properly fitted and screwed in.
- Resolve assembly and production issues with management’s assistance.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.
- Keep the working environment clean and safe.
- Report production errors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
