About The Position

The Fabricator Hand assists the shop fabricator in building, assembling, and preparing custom metal components, brackets, stands, and trailer components used for automation boxes and automation packages. The role supports fabrication projects for customer orders and in-house equipment while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience.
• Must provide own tools.
• Prior experience in welding and/or fabricating, including pump packages and FMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) and/or FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding).
• Ability to read and fabricate to dimensional prints.
• Must be able to qualify to AWSD1.1.
• Ability to manipulate tools and assembly components using fine and gross motor skills sufficient to demonstrate welding job tasks.
• Good interpersonal skills and proficiency in oral and written communications.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems and develop new concepts or ideas.
• Self-motivation skills.

Nice To Haves

• Pipe Welding (ASME Section IX) experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the fabricator with measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, and preparing metal materials.
• Help fabricate custom brackets, mounting stands, frames, and trailer components for automation equipment.
• Assist with assembling and modifying metal structures according to drawings, measurements, and instructions.
• Prepare materials and parts for welding and fabrication.
• Safely operate basic shop tools and equipment, including grinders, drills, saws, and other fabrication tools, as trained and authorized.
• Help install and mount automation boxes, panels, and related equipment onto stands, frames, and trailers.
• Assist with loading, unloading, organizing, and moving materials throughout the shop.
• Maintain an organized work area and clean tools and equipment after use.
• Monitor material supplies and notify the fabricator or shop lead when additional materials are needed.
• Assist with shop maintenance, inventory organization, and other daily tasks as assigned.
• Follow company safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently to help meet project deadlines.
