About The Position

Cardinal Systems Inc. is a leading manufacturer of galvanized steel walls for in-ground swimming pools, as well as steel steps, benches, aluminum coping, liner track, deck drains, liner bead, and custom fabrications. The Coping Fabrication Trainee will learn to utilize the ERP system, read and understand fabrication blueprints to determine dimensions and angles, and develop job assessment and detail-oriented skills to produce products to all standards and specifications. They will be trained on all individual machines in the department, including Mig tack welding, grinding, and sawing, to fabricate aluminum products.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient math skills with basic knowledge of measurements, degrees, and angles.

Nice To Haves

  • Mig welding and fabrication experience preferred.
  • Previous forklift operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the functions of the ERP system and utilize it daily.
  • Learn to read and understand fabrication blueprints to determine dimensions and angles.
  • Develop job assessment and detail-oriented skills to produce product to all standards and specifications.
  • Be trained on all individual machines used in the department to manufacture pieces.
  • Use various techniques to fabricate aluminum product including Mig tack welding, grinding, and sawing.
  • Perform machine setup for Mig Welder, Saw(s), Paint Booth, Grinder and Hand Tools.
  • Gain a basic understanding of the process and flow of the department.
  • Learn basic adjustments to fabrication equipment to make a quality product.
  • Understand company's work instructions, production standards, safety procedures, quality standards, and SOP's.
  • Handle or use packaging equipment.
  • Fabricate and package orders for stock and live orders.
  • Develop an understanding of product knowledge to perform quality checks on parts.
  • Develop an understanding of selecting the correct raw material.
  • Learn how to knowledgeably read blueprints/drawings.
  • Focus on obtaining a quality level of cleaning, finishing, and painting of product that meets or exceeds the company standard.
  • Learn basic Global Shop procedures (clocking in & out of jobs, daily production & material transfers, checking inventory status, and completing daily tasks).
