About The Position

This position operates various pieces of equipment to fabricate materials (Punch, Plasma, Ficep, Saw, Drill, Bridgeport, Tap, Pipe Tap) per specifications in conjunction with customer quality requirements and United Alloy manufacturing philosophies. Monitoring machine performance and efficiency are essential.

Requirements

  • Exposure to metal fabrication concepts and processes
  • Ability to operate overhead cranes, tape measure, caliper, basic hand tools and air tools
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Completed forklift certification training with safety team to operate a forklift
  • Ability to record time accurately including “time and attendance” and “labor reporting” using the data collection system
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 100 pounds with an assist

  • On-the-job training will be provided for new operators regarding safety procedures, how to use the machines and how to operate the computer program.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and run in all fabrication work areas
  • Manage daily work expectations and goals
  • Understand, interpret, and follow foreman’s report including priorities and start dates
  • Read material sheet tags and determine material types and gauges
  • Cross check concepts and inspects product according to Inspection Control Plan
  • Follow all safety policies and standard
  • Train other employees
  • Understand non-conforming process according to SOP-0003
  • Maintain accurate and timely system transactions
  • Inspect and clean equipment including all preventative maintenance
  • Inspect own work for quality standards
  • Other duties may be assigned
