About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Fabrication Technician I, 1st Shift. The rate for this position is $18.11 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. The Fabrication Technician I will prepare aluminum and copper busbars for assembly by operating manual presses, hand grinders, and taping bars prior to being sent to the Epoxy process. This role may also be responsible for gathering material for work centers. Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Minimum three (3) months of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle (e.g., forklift)
  • Minimum 3 months of experience using hand and air tools
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Comply with the environment, health, and safety guidelines.
  • Sustainment of 5S+ in area.
  • Handling of housing to be hole punched and cut and supporting taping processes.
  • Operate press brakes according to manufacturing instructions and/or assist other operators while bending heavy or large parts on press brake.
  • Tape bars based on order requirements to ensure that copper and/or aluminum is protected during the epoxy process.
  • Utilize hand grinders to remove excess weld material and support loading and unloading the robotic welders.
  • Assist in gathering all items, welded and single pieces, by shop order and monitor their location through the weld and then deliver to proper work centers.
  • Work to established procedures, manufacturing information, drawings, blueprints, sketches, written or oral instructions from supervision or engineering.
  • Use material handling equipment to move product and supplies.
  • Flex to other fabrication work areas as needed, including press brake, downdraft, masking, and housing punch.
