About The Position

Freeman Enclosure Systems is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Fabrication Material Handler to join our manufacturing team in Batavia, Ohio. The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, handling, storage, and distribution of raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility. This position plays an important role in supporting production by ensuring materials are available when and where they are needed. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a warehouse, fabrication, or manufacturing environment, be comfortable operating material handling equipment, and have a strong commitment to safety, organization, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience in material handling, warehousing, fabrication, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Previous forklift experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience operating pallet jacks and other material handling equipment is a plus.
  • Experience handling steel, metal products, or other industrial materials is preferred.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, safety procedures, and production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming raw materials, parts, and components.
  • Move and distribute materials to designated storage and production areas.
  • Deliver materials to fabrication and production teams accurately and on time.
  • Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Safely move steel, metal components, fabricated parts, and other manufacturing materials.
  • Properly stage materials for production based on work orders and production schedules.
  • Maintain organized storage areas to maximize available space and improve accessibility.
  • Verify materials and quantities before moving or delivering them to production.
  • Assist with inventory organization and material tracking as needed.
  • Safely handle materials of various sizes, shapes, and weights.
  • Follow proper procedures when handling hazardous materials or substances.
  • Inspect material handling equipment before use and report any safety or maintenance concerns.
  • Keep aisles, work areas, and storage locations clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and established material-handling procedures.
  • Work closely with fabrication, production, warehouse, and logistics teams to maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Assist with other warehouse or production duties as assigned.
