The Fabrication Lead will exhibit active leadership, model and support the company’s vision and strategies, and communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other shifts. This role prioritizes safety, promotes a safe work environment, and enforces job rotation policies to prevent injury. The Lead will build relationships, ensure the department has necessary tools and resources, and keep other departments informed of delays. Key responsibilities include providing leadership to department team members by communicating priorities, developing cross-training, offering continuing education and development, coaching employees, monitoring performance, executing reviews, delegating special projects, and identifying cost reduction methods. The Lead will also apply continuous improvement techniques, ensure work area cleanliness using 5S principles, set up and run equipment safely and efficiently to maximize output and meet quality standards, and fulfill customer orders accurately by reviewing manufacturing orders, ensuring quality practices, performing inspections, and packaging orders according to specifications. This role involves maintaining the work center schedule, supporting department key measures, creating and training Standard Work Instructions, and monitoring/recommending process improvements for safety, rates, yield, and inspection techniques.
