About The Position

Fabricating Machine Operator Trainee Fike Corporation, a rapidly growing international manufacturer of pressure relief, explosion protection, fire suppression and detection equipment, has an opportunity for a Fabricating Machine Operator Trainee, 2nd shift. Fike is a privately held business located in Blue Springs, MO with over 400 employees locally & over 1,200 employees worldwide. Job Summary: Entry role focused on training and assisting operators. Under close supervision, performs routine tasks in Fabrication, Paint and Assembly. Emphasis is on learning techniques. Must be able to perform minimum training requirements. This position will work second shift Monday - Thursday, 3:15pm - 1:45am

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and follow instructions, work orders, and engineered drawings.
Must be able to obtain forklift certificate within 6 months of hire.
Subject Matter Exposure.
Computer Literate.
Inspecting and Examining Ability.
Mechanical Dexterity.
Mechanical Aptitude.

Mechanical exposure or Vo-Tech training.

Responsibilities

Prepares parts for paint via washing or blasting.
Loads and unloads paint line
Performs breakout and staging of laser cut parts.
Operates fabrication equipment under the direction of trained operators.
Work in conjunction with Heavy Assembly building and testing various products under the direction of trained operators.
Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
Adheres to safety practices, 6S, and follows Fike policies and ISO9001.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Regular and consistent attendance is required.
