About The Position

This position is responsible for planning and coordinating all aircraft maintenance activities, including inspections and dispatching of assigned tasks. The supervisor will monitor the NALCOMIS/OOMA system, prepare maintenance readiness reports, and coordinate outstanding maintenance actions. Compliance with NAVAIRINST 3710.1(series) and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series is required. The role involves maintaining aircraft historical records, managing mission configurations, and ensuring work areas are kept neat and orderly. The supervisor will also train subordinate employees, assist other shops as needed, and may reassign personnel to support flight schedules. Tasks include transporting pilots when government personnel are unavailable.

Requirements

  • Released from military service with an Honorable Discharge.
  • Extensive background in aircraft maintenance and material support with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
  • Ten (10) years of the last 15 years in direct aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modification.
  • Relevant experience on the F18 platform is required.
  • Six (6) of the last ten (10) years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, including a supervisory position with responsibility for assigning priorities and workloads.
  • Experience supervising daily flight operations personnel supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
  • Experience in writing with clarity and technical accuracy.
  • Knowledgeable of and understand basic supply procedures.
  • Knowledgeable of technical directives and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series.
  • Possess working knowledge of applicable aircraft (F/A-18, AV-8 & H-60).
  • Possess valid U.S. driver license.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline is highly preferred.
  • Active US. Secret Clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and coordinates all aircraft maintenance activities, inspections, and dispatch of assigned tasks.
  • Monitors the NALCOMIS/OOMA system to report work performed and current status.
  • Prepares daily Aircraft Maintenance Status Readiness Report (AMSRR).
  • Coordinates and prioritizes outstanding maintenance actions.
  • Complies with NAVAIRINST 3710.1(series) and CNAFINST 4790.2 Series.
  • Maintains aircraft historical records and other aircraft files.
  • Responsible for mission configurations and coordinating with civil service work centers for support and checks.
  • Ensures and coordinates work centers’ written pass down logbooks between shifts.
  • Verifies all Maintenance Action Documentation before submission to the Navy.
  • Ensures work areas are maintained and safety rules are observed.
  • Resolves problems by working with other groups or personnel.
  • Instructs and assists in training subordinate employees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, including duties of lower-rated technical personnel.
  • Assists other shops/skills as required.
  • Reassigns contract personnel between work centers to support flight schedules.
  • Tasks personnel for transporting pilots when government personnel are unavailable.
